Thank you for your continued interest in the Vector Settlement. The Settlement as originally established was not granted final approval by the Court. This occasionally happens. As a result, the parties have again met with a supervising settlement judge, and have re-negotiated a modified settlement that we will be presenting to the Court around mid-January, 2012, for the Court’s review and approval.
We believe this proposal will be well received by the Court. Under the terms of the revised agreement, which still needs to be documented, all those who previously made claims will receive the previous net payment, plus an additional 20%. Additionally, the attorney’s fees sought by Plaintiff’s counsel will be substantially reduced, and the parties will be making large contributions from the funds saved as a result of the lower attorney’s fees, to organizations throughout California which offer free legal services for “workers’ rights” issues, and job training organizations. If this modified settlement is approved, payments could be issued by the end of February, 2012.
